The Newcastle Courant, 18 Nov 1797: Married. On Thursday, Mr John Laidman, surgeon in Morpeth, to Miss Dorothy Milburn, of the same place.

The same publication mentions in the issue of 24 May 1800: Died. Saturday last, Mr Laidman of Morpeth, surgeon."

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Laidman of Morpeth in the County of Northumberland Surgeon I order and direct that all my just debts and funeral Expenses be paid by my Executrix hereafter named out of my Estate and Effects which I hereby charge with the payment thereof and subject thereto I give devise and bequeath unto my Dear Wife Dorothy Laidman all my Estate and Effects both real and Personal or of what other Nature kind or quality soever and wheresoever which I shall die possessed of interested in or any ways intitled unto To hold the same to my said Wife Dorothy Laidman her heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever and I constitute and appoint my said Wife sole executrix of this my Will and ['Testament' probably omitted in error] hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and I do publish and declare this to be and contain my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the tenth day of February in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred [signed] J. John by Divine Providence Archbishop of Canterbury Primate of all England and Metropolitan do by these Presents make known to all men that on the twenty Sixth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred at London before the Right Honorable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Law Master Keeper or Commissary of our Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted the last Will and Testament of John Laidman late of Morpeth in the County of Northumberland deceased hereunto annexed was proved approved and registered, the said deceased having whilst living and at the time of his death Goods Chattels or Credits in divers Dioceses or Jurisdictions by reason whereof the proving and registering the said Will and the granting Administration of all and singular the said Goods Chattels and Credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the Account thereof are well known to appertain only and wholly to us and not to any inferior Judge; and that Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased and any [?was] concerning his Will was granted to Dorothy Laidman Widow the Relict of the said deceased and the Sole Executrix named in the said Will she having been already sworn by Commission well and faithfully to administer the same and to make a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said Goods Chattels and Credits and to exhibit the same into the Registry of our said Court on or before the last day of December next ensuing and also to render a just and true Account thereof
