Misc. Notes
William's baptism entry in the OPR for Temple Sowerby for the year 1802 was as follows:
William, Son of William Laidman, Husbandman, and Jane his Wife, publickly Baptised Jan: 24th

Listed by Parson and White (William Parson & William White, History, Directory and Gazetteer of Cumberland and Westmorland with Furness and Cartmill, 1829, p.487):
"LAIDMAN Wm farmer Thos-Close Hutton"
Thomas Close is about 4 km SSE of Ivegill and is in the northernmost part of the parish of Hutton-in-the-Forest. It may be that William and Deborah, after having their first two children (Jane O1993, in 1825, and John O1988, in 1827) baptised in the parish of Hesket-in-the-Forest, chose to baptise their next two (Ann P1995, and William P1996) at a (possibly more convenient) church in Hutton-in-the-Forest parish. The next known baptism (Thomas P1997) was at Ainstable. This could explain why P1996 William's birth place was given as Hutton in the 1861 Census but Hesket in the 1881 Census.

A Mary LAIDAMAN, age 2 years, abode Priory (parent(s) unspecified) was buried in Hesket-in-the-Forest parish 24 May 1834 [OPR, page 61, Entry 487]

(See details under O1993 Jane LAIDMAN).
