Misc. Notes
‘Sir William Blacket, Baronet,... was one of the benefactors who contributed to the funds for the rebuilding of the college of Arms after the Great Fire. As such he had a short pedigree of his immediate family entered in the College records in 1674. This shows that he was then (1 May 1674) 53 years old and his youngest daughter, Christian, 23 years old.

The arms entered with this pedigree for Sir William Blacket are Argent on a Chevron between three Mullets Sable three escallops Argent, with a baronet’s badge. His daughter as a spinster would have been entitled to show these arms on a lozenge without the baronet’s badge. On marriage her husband could have impaled his arms of Mitford, with or without the two quarterings, with those of Blacket [Coll. Arms Benefactors 2,108]’
